I was horrified at the thought of giving men advice about a booty call. Recently, I was the victim of a booty call gone wrong and was highly offended at the tact of this guy's approach. It made me ponder, if he'd taken a different approach would I have accepted the invitation?
Let's be realistic and call a spade a spade. As long as men and women are interested in sex, the booty call will remain alive and kicking. However, there's a booty call, and there's a booty call. Just because one person is approaching another for sex with no strings attached does not mean all manners go flying out the window.
If one person if wanting to have casual sex, this does not mean the person is bad, nor should they be treated any differently. If anything, you should be singing their praises as they are the people that are willing to satisfy your sexual itch. This may not be a girl you wish you have a relationship with but respect still needs to be shown. In order to maintain dignity during these morally sensitive times, some rules of etiquette need to be set.
1. How late is too late for a booty call?
Some will argue it's never too late for a booty call, however you need to consider the time before dialing her number. Anything before 12am may be appropriate however 12am and onwards could be crossing the line. Are you calling her at 2.30am because 10 girls before her have knocked you back and she's next on the list? Are you assuming that she is up at 2.30am waiting to be booty called? If it is a weeknight then consideration definitely needs to be given. If a precedent has been set and she doesn't mind you calling at any time, then you have 24-hour calling power.
2. When setting up a booty call, don't expect your booty callee to be at your beck and call
Just because a girl is up for a one-night stand does not mean she has no life of her own. When you call her she might be interested but actually busy. If she is unable to satisfy your sexual needs when you require, then end the conversation in a polite and friendly manner that ensures you are welcome to make the booty call again. A hang up or rude comment will result in termination of any future chance you had at one night of pleasure with her.
